ANCHORAGE, Alaska—

It started in the East Coast and made its way across the nation to Alaska.

The Occupy Wall Street protest continues for its third week, inspiring similar protests all over the country, including here in Anchorage.

“We might be disconnected physically from the rest of the country, but we're still here we're still a part of it. It matters to us what happens,” said protester Megan Goodman.

Nearly 100 people got together to talk about the issues that brought them to “Occupy Anchorage.”

“It takes people getting together and realizing they're not alone in their concerns,” said former Anchorage Assembly member Sheila Selkregg. “We share common concerns, and we can come together and express them.”

<snip>

Occupy Anchorage is planning another protest for Saturday.

I was watching my grandkids this afternoon and couldn't make this one but will definitely be there Saturday. I'll post pictures.

The video of this newscast with more interviews of protesters is at Occupy Anchorage on Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/#!/OccupyAnchorage

3. Very few people are surprised.
Now we just want her to go away. Maybe she'll move down to Arizona, and we won't ever have to think about her ever again. We can always hope. Here's a link to the Anchorage Daily News story with the often hilarious comments. It should give you an idea of how people are reacting here. http://www.adn.com/2011/10/05/2105828/sarah-palin-announces-she-wont.html

Also, I see that ADN has coverage of this Occupy Anchorage protest, as well. http://www.adn.com/2011/10/05/2106345/wall-street-protest-spreads-across.html

5. She's like Michael Myers showing up again and again
in a never ending series of horror movies. Yeah, Arizona sounds like her kind of place. Thanks for the links and the comments were funny
