USPS management issuing GAG order on employees not to call or write their Congressional reps...

This looks like a letter disseminated to all the postmasters of local stations and branches of post offices (in an area of the country that is not discernible because that information has been blacked out) to remind the employees in said stations and branches that they aren't allowed to exercise their Constitutional right to contact their Congressperson or Senator.

What these cretins in upper management don't seem to realize is that we didn't check our citizenship at the door when we got hired and we certainly don't check our citizenship at the door on our own time.

on edit: Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe's idea of "financial stability" is the idea of you have to destroy it in order to save it. This clown signed a contract with the Union and then he turns around and asks Congress for permission to break it. The prior crook holding the position of PMG - Jack Potter - got out of Dodge with a sweetheart retirement package worth millions after he pushed for the 2006 act that crashed the USPS. Who was Potter's right-hand man? Patrick Donahoe. Go figure.

2. Welcome To The Regime
When you can lose your freedom of speech because your quasi government employer forbids it you are no longer in a free country.

Thank you for the Postal Service. In 20 years only one piece of important mail was lost, and that was probably stolen.

The ability to mail a document from Alaska to Florida for 44 cents is something we all should be proud of, and is underrated and unappreciated. And your parcel services are much better than UPS and cheaper than FED EX. And at least in the case of UPS, Miles more reliable. The nightmare I experienced once with an important parcel has convinced me to never *ever* use their "service" again.

Everyone has stuff they want to sell, and the USPS is the best way to ship. It would be great if they could set up something like Ebay, to provide competition and an alternative.

The USPS should be *SUBSIDIZED* not marginalized. In 5 seconds our government spends >$10,000 on the wars in the middle east (costofwar.com) and just think of what $10k could do for the postal service in your town. THAT IS 5 SECONDS of our war spending.

sometimes i feel like i'm living in an alternate reality
