Yep, that's our Hank!
Bocephus is a complete tool who sure knows how to spin it for his minions.

Last time I checked, Hanky, ESPN fired YOU, and ESPN and congress are two different entities. But, hey, don't let that stop you, laughing boy, what with the shit-kicking "Proudtobeanamericans" of which you proclaim to be a part.

4. Yep... If it's my constitutional right to do the intro for MNF I better get to work
Especially amusing how he spent two days apologizing then declared himself above the gig after they fired him. Good luck with his "rowdy friends" when it comes to boycotting football because of a 30 second spot before the game too.

7. I can't imagine how quickly I would lose my job...
If I always said exactly what I'm thinking! If you are paid by someone else, you do their bidding... there is no democracy or free speech when you're working for the man.

This guy just keeps proving how stupid he really is... as if we needed convincing.

Poor III.

it.

ESPN did not violate your freedom of speech at all. You're free to babble on about whatever crazy redneck shit is on your mind. Whether or not you GET PAID for it is another matter entirely.

8. And that's the salient point.
Private employers can fire somebody who 'damages the brand.'

12. Quoting Natalie Maines(Dixie Chicks):
"We'll never know if country radio would have banned Hank Williams Jr. for badmouthing the President, because they already don't play him,"

I'll take her word for it.

15. I don't think he's had a hit since about 1989 or so. I'm sure all his old hits will reappear for

about a month or so but once the novelty wears off he'll fade away again.

Truth is that had Hank Jr. not made the stupid comments, and MNF just pulled the song because it was stupid and dated and replaced it with something new most of these irate teabaggers wouldn't even notice.

13. So ESPN ( a private corporation) should not be allowed
Edited on Thu Oct-06-11 03:51 PM by Dawson Leery
to chose what they air, though it was right for Clear Channel and Cumulus (also private corporations) to chose what they air, in the case in question, to pull the Dixie Chicks off the air?

Hypocrites!
