It might work for the teabaggers but it isn't necessary.

15. That would get them arrested in NYC ...
Only the rich, the famous and the well connected get to legally carry guns in the Big Apple.

The Rich, the Famous, the Armed
Published: February 18, 2011

MEN and women. Democrats and Republicans. Doctors, lawyers, merchants and moguls. A remarkable, if relatively small, cross-section of New Yorkers legally own handguns, according to public records obtained by The New York Times.

Among the more than 37,000 people licensed to have a handgun in the city are dozens of boldface names and public figures: prominent business leaders, elected officials, celebrities, journalists, judges and lawyers.

***snip***

The 41,164 handguns registered with the Police Department as of Jan. 14 include those owned by more than 2,400 people who live outside the city but have permission to bring their weapons here — people like Roger E. Ailes, the president of Fox News, whose license lists an address in New Jersey; John J. Mack, the chairman of Morgan Stanley, who lives in Westchester County; and Sean Hannity, the conservative talk-show host, who lives on Long Island.

The Faces of Gun Ownership In The City
http://gothamist.com/2011/02/20/the_faces_of_gun_ownership_in_the_c.php

The NYTimes reports today that there are more than 37,000 people licensed to have a handgun in the city. It's a small but substantial group which includes many prominent businessmen, city council members, celebrities, journalists, judges and lawyers. Among the most prominent names: Queens DA Richard Brown, actor Robert De Niro, radio host Don Imus, Donald Trump, actor Harvey Keitel, radio host Howard Stern, city council members Inez Dickens and Peter Koo, and Federal Judge Sterling Johnson Jr. As Johnson Jr noted soberly, "I was a special prosecutor. Sixteen years in narcotics. I didn't make a lot of people happy."

Despite the fact that they were breaking no laws in doing so. I also remember very clearly they edited one video so that nobody could see the teabagger in question was African American.

I have friends who were US Special Forces in the 1960s and they have some stories to tell about infiltrating anti-war and leftists groups and starting violence in order to furnish a pretense for bringing down the hammer.

28. A little bird helped me to find what I'd mentioned above. Very interesting.
"There were definitely some people who wanted to push through the barricades, but we peacefully remained in place for about 20 minutes. A few guys that I've never seen before were really agitating for us to break through. A few other people that I know, were considering it and we were trying to get an assembly together to try to figure out what our next move would be. At this point, the two guys that I've never seen before were the first to push into the barricades that were directly in front of about 50 police officers, and the instant that happened, pepper-spray was fired all over the place and the cops were swing their batons wildly.

I managed to get some footage of it on my flipcam, I will post some later, but I got some pepper-spray in my left eye and got pushed and shoved around so the footage is messy. Journalist Luke Rudkowski, from We Are Change, was directly to my right and he did an amazing job of getting footage, despite being pepper-sprayed and hit with a baton. I have to give major respect to Luke. His coverage of the protests from Day 1, and every single day since, has been among the best we've had. He's fearless."

27. No if you are a lunatic
in a stupid hat with tea bags, have a visible sidearm,mis-spelled racist signs, and are totally ignant (ignorant) you are the perfect repug.

But if you are mad at the people who tanked the economy and help put millions out on the street, then you are a starting class warfare. Even though republicans drew FIRST BLOOD!!!!!!

They don't give a damn on Wall street, K street, C street or any other street that republicans have made their mark on. they have made up in their minds that we don't matter. They are worried about violence, they should be. They have stolen away the dreams of the average American. They have made criminal acts against this economy. they have gotten rich and the other 99 percent have gotten more poor.

I am down here on the ground feeding the homeless and poor, doing coat drives and going places that your wealthy job creators would not go if they had 90% tax cut on the other side. Far as I am concerned they can all hold hands and go to HELL together in a tea bagger hat.

33. the way it works is they send undercover agents in to start shit,
that allows them to act like the entire demonstration has gone wild. So the provocatuer gets arrested along with as many as the police can get while teargassing or pepperspraying the rest. the agent gets released and the rest get the shaft.

that allows the media to portray the movement as radical and violent disavowing any progress the movement might have been making.

37. "If it bleeds, it leads"
Unless the movement turns violent, the main stream media will lose interest and stop covering it.

The media hate boring, and people marching around with signs is boring.

People camping out in a city park is boring.

Police kettling people, arresting them, and giving them summons is boring.

Smashed shop windows, looting, buildings on fire, tanks and APCs moving around, IEDs exploding, and blood in the streets is newsworthy.

We haven't seen tanks in American streets since Detroit '67. Now that would be exciting.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1967_Detroit_riot
Tanks<15> and machine guns<16> were used in the effort to keep the peace. Film footage and photos that were viewed internationally showed a city on fire, with tanks and combat troops in firefights in the streets, thus sealing Detroit's reputation for decades to come.

39. Resist the temptation to carry weapons
The powers that be are deliberately tempting you to abandon your principles of nonviolent resistance. That's what Bloomberg and JPMorgan Chase are paying the white shirts to make you out to be shiftless malcontents.

Do not, under any circumstances whatsoever, take their bait.
Do not fight police violence with violence of your own.
Do not carry weapons, no matter how angry you are.

Back to the main topic, the media should be concerned about violence perpetrated by police. They were the ones inciting riots, not the protesters. They're the ones planting provocateurs into the crowd. They're the ones bragging about beating up and macing peaceful, unarmed demonstrators. Media, you're barking up the wrong tree if you think OWS will become violent.

43. What's lovely is that it is police violence that has brought
MSM's attention to OW.

They had been ignored by MSM until the pigs started attacking them and arresting them by the hundreds.

The cops waste time and money beating up a minor pain in the city's neck while ignoring more serious crimes.

Way to go. Pick the easiest target and go beat it up.
