Occupy Seattle Dwindles After Arrests
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2016411868_westlake06m.html

A dwindling number of protesters remained at Westlake Park on Thursday morning, less than a day after Seattle police and city parks staff swept through the park making arrests and forcing participants in the Occupy Seattle movement to take down their tents.

Protesters said that about 30 people spent the night in sleeping bags, in boxes lined with aluminum foil and in other makeshift shelters set up to replace the now-banned tents.

After eating a hot breakfast at the camp, people gathered in groups as musicians tuned their guitars and others played cards, shared cigarettes or talked about their strategy for the dawning day.

Dewey Potter, spokeswoman for Seattle Parks and Recreation, said Thursday morning that about 50 people remained in the park at late morning. She said that protesters have been told that they can seek a permit for a food tent and a first aid tent.

Parks staff remain monitoring the protest, Seattle police are no longer involved, Potter said.

1. Precisely what the corporate-state wants from the police it owns...
So the burgeoning movement will have to consider what alternatives it has when the "enough is enough" crackdowns come in earnest from our fiduciary overlords...

2. Some of this is MISINFORMATION

....The local press has been less than truthful about what is going on down there..But on the honest side Seattle seems to be a bit apathetic towards the OCCUPY crowd...unlike Portland to the south.

One of the local news reporters asked a guy who has 2 part time jobs why he didn't have a third PT job if he was struggling to make it.

SEATTLE isnt as liberal as it once was.

5. The 10th Anniversary Afghanistan. Protests planned in all major cities
The Seattle march ends up at Westlake Park, where the OWS people have been

The article in the OP indicated the OWS was dying.

6. This is what I fear is going to happen in many places. It's the disadvantage
of trying a nationwide groups protest. Two or three major cities should be targeted and we need to all just go to the closest one, not for a day or two, but to stay till Congress and the Admin get something done. Probably Washington, Chicago, New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, and either Seattle or SanFran. Otherwise the groups are too small and too easily dispersed and too small to be newsworthy.

10. No, it's the big groups that are too easily rounded up and crushed
Being everywhere at once is a far more effective strategy than localized confrontations the protesters are bound to lose.

And besides, the whole point is "global revolution." Not big-city revolution. Not for-those-who-can-camp-out-for-months for evolution. Revolution for everyone, everywhere, all at once.

11. It was not just that the protests of the 60s lasted for years it was that
when they were forced to stop for a bit they reorganized and came back. It will not be surprising to those of us that old if they finally find a way to put the Wall Street protests down what would surprise us is if the protesters do not return again and again.
