1. I was born there and grew up there! I left because I felt it was hopelessly RW.

Recently, I learned it had a beating heart, due to artists and gay people staking out a beachhead there and making their way. That is so gratifying to learn!

7. good for you, lady! You fight the good fight!
My position was many years ago and I had reasons other than politics, like art, to give up Dallas. Long story. But I see now that there is a new spirit in Dallas and oh,do I welcome it!

but when my mother died in 2005, my reason for being there was gone forever. Funny, my family still has a couple of gravesites that could be re-sold at Restland. As the sole survivor, I have no idea what I could get for them, but I think I will find out. Worth a try. It is a bit heartbreaking but what do I want them for?

The news media in DFW says it was about 200. I was there and it was more like the 500 to 700 posted above.
