Yesterday Occupy Wall Street Woke Up A Sleeping Giant (Labor)
The big thing to take out of yesterday's big Wall Street protest is this: Labor is awake, and they're fully committed to the protesters.

Here's what a United Transit Workers leader had to say about it at Zuccotti Park after the rally:

"Occupy Wall Street showed organized labor that we can take on decision makers in this country. Organized labor has been asleep for too long. Now we know we can change the landscape for working families by taking our fights to the street. Our 38,000 members are with you to the end."

16. Don't let it bother you, this place is full of people saying mindless bullshit these days.
Its almost beyond preposterous, but they will say it anyway.

17. You thing OWS "woke up" Labor? Let me ask, did you notice anything happening in Wisconsin ?
A year ago Labor was out in the blinding snow and who was Occupying Wall Street then? It started in Wisconsin, not Wall Street.

2. What is the goal of the occupy Wall Street movement? Seems
to me they should be occupying K Street or their local congressman's office. The only way to do anything about Wall Street is to cut off the money to politicians in BOTH parties that is the problem.

3. Certainly not the only way
The real goal is to make and keep the goal open. Not to allow the financial elite and corrupt leaders distort and shut down human potential. Versatility of 99% is our power, each of us unique with dreams to fullfill and life to live, free from oppression. We start by living freely. Each morning we start a new day.

5. It sounds to me like you have no
reason or goal for existence. If you want support from the 99% you need to come up with some kind of end goal. I was thinking of attending a local occupy gathering on the 15th but it sounds like I would be wasting my time. I know what I want is to get the money out of politics, if that isn't what you want in the end I don't have a clue what the hell you are wasting your time for.

7. Oh,
I'll be attending local occupy/15M gathering on 15th. I want rEvolution, getting money out of politics is important but just a part of this. I want a fair chance to live a good life for all of our children, I want humanity to wake up from the money hypnosis and consumerism and destruction of ecosystem and evolve into way of life that is sustainable and in good balance with Mother Earth. So that we can keep on living and evolving. I want us to avoid dystopic futures and be open to wonderfull futures we can't yet even imagine, creating them together.

10. My point is unless you first get money out of politics you will
never achieve any of your other wishes. So why not keep it simple and demand they take money out of politics so the average American can understand what the heck you hope to achieve. I at least know what the teabaggers want, cut spending and lower taxes. It boggles my mind why any senior on Medicare and SS would be demanding spending cuts when the Republicans first goal is to cut SS and Medicare.

11. It's called "complex" (military industrial etc.)
for a good reason. The system (capitalism as we know it) consists of very complex network of interdependent relationships, and among the 99% there is no consensus or prescience of the exact order of how things will or should proceed, which shoe could or should drop first. Revolutionary moments are rEvolutionary because they are moments of unpredictability, and that is my main point of "keeping it simple". Just accepting the unpredictability of this rEvolution and going with the flow and trusting each other and learning cooperation.

It's different on the ground, being physically present in the body political. It's powerful in the way that internet discussions can never be.

14. ROFL...
You either forgot a sarcasm tag somewhere or just need to put down the blunt.
Sounds like your only an acoustic guitar and pair of bellbottoms away from '69 - lol

12. The goal is awareness
The entire goal is to wake america up to how America's treasures and resources have been hijacked and moved into the hands of the very few. America needs to be made aware that 400 families own more than 50% of all America's wealth...400 families...There is no money problem in America, there is a distribution problem...
