1. This quote has video to back it up, too. The crowd responds to his final question
with a thundering "yes!".

5. We have to be careful about quoting Reagan
Even if we agree with what he once said, are we sure we want to give credence to anything he said? Yes, I know he was right about this one thing, but wasn't he wrong about everything else? Don't want to give his worshipers any ammunition, you know?

16. Reagan couldn't get nominated today. He wasn't an outspoken racist.

10. The truth is the truth no matter who says it...
What is strange is that a Republican, especially such a revered Republican could ever do so...

14. Ronnie said whatever fit the situation
He supported the Unions in Poland, but he also fired the Air Traffic Controllers on Strike.

He was full of Shit, Big Time.

He doesn't deserve the time to write this.

13. This is a perfect way to quote him.
When you use his own quote against his "worshippers" you somewhat disarm them.

Since everything he says is true to them by definition, they have no way to dodge or argue with this.

19. I agree with this
Reagan deserves nothing but endless vilification for the harm he's done to the global economy and to the American idea. Hitler gave us Volkswagons and the autobahn, and he liked dogs and children, but no one tries to rehabilitate him on that basis. Reagan might look liberal by today's standards, and I understand that's the point of this and other quotes that have been circulating, but he was also the great Quisling of Hollywood at the McCarthy hearings. He rose to political celebrity as part of a far right wing witch hunt, and his whole political career was a demonic stupidly destructive force in our lives. Imagine how great Russia and Europe would be now if he hadn't disrupted the USSR's peaceful transformation to social democracy? He wrecked that, creating untold suffering for hundreds of millions of people, and people consider him a hero!

In my mind, America will not have returned to sanity until every building and institution named after Reagan is scrubbed through and through.

20. Who Can Forget
How he failed to address the issue of AIDS and allowed it to spiral out of control. Because he thought it was a "gay" disease he wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole and probably millions died as a result. This was unforgivable.

22. If Reagan was alive right now...
and president right now, and governing the way he did in the 1980s...

you would have needed two of these to move all the teabags away from the White House.
