Haven't heard anything about it -- may have just missed it -- but so many US denominations seem so loudly political...

4. Don't expect much in the media, but....
I'm a Community Minister in Florida who is in touch with members of the liberal clergy across the country. I personally know clergy and leaders in Unitarian Universalist congregations, temples, Ethical Societies and liberal Christian churches who are encouraging their membership to take to the streets. Whether directly as protestors or in support roles like getting food and water to participants, writing to publications, whatever they can do. I don't have much to do with more conservative denominations of Christianity so I'm afraid I'm unable to comment on their role at the present. Given the growing attention over just the past week I imagine we'll be hearing much about it from liberal pulpits this Sunday. I know it's going to ring out from mine.

5. See #4
and I'll add. I suspect we may see public statements down the road, but liberal denominations tend to be run democratically and it takes longer to issue a statement than it does from a hierarchic organization. Look to the denominations with a strong history in social justice advocacy and that's where you're likely to find the support. Remember most of these organizations are not going to issue a press release that they're in the trenches. It's not that they don't want the attention, but that's just not how they do things. Roll up your sleeves and get to work is more likely to be the mindset. The media may or may not notice. Time will tell.
