1. Of course they do. And if they acknowledge there's a range of opinion
Edited on Fri Oct-07-11 02:06 PM by deutsey
why isn't that range more accurately reflected in terms of CNN's hosts?

6. the opinion isn't the issue
the issue is the quality of the programming and the extent to which it is really just shilling for the banks. Her show should be seen as an infomercial for Wall Street.

And if they issued a statement, they must have been getting a lot of shit. :toast:

25. They are not supporting her.
As for the ratings, as with every other attempt, CNN's shows start out strong and quickly lose their audience.

19. CNN catching shit -- as it very well should
I don't have especially high expectations of **any** journalistic enterprise anymore, but I saw that hit job she did the other night on OWS. It appalled and disgusted me that this was being presented in an "objective" program. Her contempt for the protesters was so evident you could almost smell it through the TV.

But I'm amazed that anyone would expect anything different from anyone coming from the alternative universe that is CNBC.

13. Ms. Erin Burnett is Wall Street.
Interesting how Maher kept taking peeks at Burnett to see how she is reacting to his statements. It's a fail to think that Burnett will add anything to economic dialogue except her defense of Wall St.

Erin Burnett was bad enough when she was constantly promoted (and drooled over) by Joe the Scab and his morning joe crew, when she was still with CNBC. Bleah. Let CNN know.

16. "Range of opinions"
Ms. Burnett's "opinion" being whatever the exploiter class happens to want her to say on any given day.

Nice fucking range of opinions. Why not give a show to one of the protesters? Wall Street gets a show for its "opinion," but the protesters have to go through that show - which sneers and mocks them - to say anything? Nice range of opinions, CNN. Fuck you.

18. "Burnett, whose fiancée is a Citigroup executive" : I guess she's just an unbiased voice
in the crowd.

If CNN want to back her opinion then the only reasonable thing to do if you value facts over opinions: switch channels!

27. CNN is a corporate propaganda organization. It is not an impartial, fact finding, truth telling
media organization. None of those seem to exist anymore. It does what it is told to do by those in charge of the media corporation. There are very few fact finding, investigative journalists anymore who do hard research and report what they find. Todays corporate media "makes" the news, they no longer tell it. All the BS about being the "trusted name in news," or claiming to be "fair and balanced," are made up corporate slogans for the masses to remember and associate with that particular, alleged, "news" organization. If you want the truth today, you've got to research everything yourself to find it.
