Oshkosh Corp. has named a new president of its defense products division, filling a position that was vacant several months.

John Urias will lead all aspects of the company's global defense business, including military truck programs, product development and aftermarket services.

Urias is a former U.S. Army major general. Before retiring from the Army, he was commanding general of the Joint Contracting Command-Iran Afghanistan.

His previous Army experience also includes serving as the program executive officer of air, space and missile defense, and deputy for systems acquisition at the Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command.

Prior to joining Oshkosh, he worked for Raytheon Co., where he was vice president of programs for Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems.

I'm sure his role in the Joint Contracting Command had no bearing on his employment with Raytheon and Oshkosh.
