Is the phrase "class war" a euphemism?
Edited on Fri Oct-07-11 03:51 PM by Boojatta
War involves armed soldiers fighting against other armed soldiers.

When the phrase "class war" is used, is the following what is meant?

persecution of a minority group by a government that needs scapegoats to blame for consequences of the government's mismanagement of the country.

What do you think? Is it a euphemism? If it is a euphemism, then what is really meant?

1. It's more like an onslaught. . .
with the poor being the main victims.

5. Yes, the term was used by Warren Buffett in that sense.
I was thinking of an envisioned class war that has not yet occurred in the USA.

2. When the alternative media and its various
members use the term, your definition is spot on.

However, when the Lame Stream Media uses the term 'class warfare,' they are tlmeaning the tremendously unfair "hit" that the Upper One Percent is subject to, as we "lower and inferior" types are too jealous of the success resulting from the Upper one Percent's many efforts.

Which again, the Lame Stream Media portrays as being all about the sweat of one's brow, when in actuality it has more to do with inheriting enough money and/or being connected to the Bigger Movers and Shakers.

7. The right wing can go on the offensive and they appear justified and content
But as soon as people push back against them the right wing acts like they're the victims. They do this often.

It could also be a case of projection which is likely. They aren't above using both tactics.

8. Is a class war something that is fought in order to achieve and consolidate political power?
Or is it drawn out vengeance to be exacted after political power has been achieved?
