Obama administration says medical marijuana patients are prohibited from owning guns.

ATF say medical-marijuana patients are prohibited from owning guns
By John Ingold
The Denver Post
October 3, 2011

Brian Vicente, one of the state's most prominent medical-marijuana proponents, calls it a "travesty." Tony Fabian, one of the state's foremost gun-rights activists, says it's evidence of "hostility."

What has forged this quirky convergence of advocacy — tokers, meet shooters — is a September letter from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives saying it is illegal for medical-marijuana patients to own firearms.

Everybody who buys a gun must fill out ATF Form 4473, which asks: "Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?"

Answer yes, and you don't get the gun. Falsely answer no, and you've just committed a crime.

2. "Are you an unlawful user of..."
That negates the argument right there. MMJ users are legal users.

17. The statement implies that any stimulant or
suppressant even if prescribed is an unlawful substance.

9. But what about when they are seized by reefer madness?

I once had a "hippie" threaten to take one of my twinkees after he smoked one of those lethal doobees.

Can you imagine what would have happened if he had brandished a knife (the buttering kind) a fork or even worse a gun?

and I'm obviously not a major gun advocate, but this is just wrong. There is no justification for this. None.

11. Why does everything you post start with the words "Obama administration"?
That is not what the headline states nor what the story implies.

It's bullshit, and you know it.

19. Apparently the ATF passed it out of their ass.
It's not the law, it's more ratfucking IMO. Just like the other bullshit MMJ story being passed around this week.

Both narratives are designed to make Liberals blame Obama for something he didn't do and doesn't agree with. The OP does this all the time because he hates Obama.
