(((PICS))) Occupied Wall Street - A City Within a City
Vernon Supreme from Baltimore, Md. hands out free Occupy Wall Street newspapers called "The Occupied Wall Street Journal" near the gathering site on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011 in New York.

Compost heaps are seen in Zuccotti Park, where the "Occupy Wall Street" protests are currently taking place, Friday, October 7, 2011, in New York. The three-week-old campout in a lower Manhattan plaza looks like a jumble of tattered sleeping bags, but teams of volunteers working on food, sanitation, health care and other needs keep the shifting population of protesters functioning like an impromptu city within the city.

3. Probably the phone number for the lawyers guild
It is wise when attending an OWS activity to have written in sharpy on your arm.

8. Yes, the police aren't letting people call out of the area code and won't help you find #s.
I believe it was an early recommendation by the General Assembly.

17. yes, wasn't that thoughtful?
:)

I love that it was vegan... extra thoughtful since even among those protesters, who are probably less likely to be meat-and-potatoes eaters than the general population, there may be a short supply of vegan food.
