I assume you're talking about Ronald. What's the point? And wouldn't it be "sucked"?

5. Trickle(D)o(w)n Economics
The beginning of the end of prosperity began when Reagan started coddling the rich so our economy could bleed hundreds of thousands of well paying factory jobs.

7. He tried to abolish the Bureau of Indian Affairs and did cut healthcare and jobs on reservations.
Also during a visit to Russia, he answered a question and insulted every Native American by stating they should become citizens -- and of course, they already were.

He has no fans among the Native Americans.

8. He cut taxes on the wealthy and corporations while paying for them
by removing tax breaks that used to accrue to the middle class.

By cutting taxes on the corporations, he indirectly gave the shareholders a windfall. They started demanding ever-increasing profits, forgetting that investment is a gamble, and executives had to comply or be ousted. This was a major incentive for slashing jobs, moving production overseas, making shoddier products, cutting customer service, etc.

The Republican lie is that low taxes create jobs, when in fact, employee expenses are paid with *pre-tax* income, so hiring people, paying and training them and giving them benefits actually lowers a company's taxes. It does, however, decrease the shareholders' dividends, so it has to be minimized.

12. Let me see if I understand this...
The Republican lie is that low taxes create jobs, when in fact, employee expenses are paid with *pre-tax* income, so hiring people, paying and training them and giving them benefits actually lowers a company's taxes. It does, however, decrease the shareholders' dividends, so it has to be minimized.

So if a company made $100,000 and spent $50,000 on hiring, paying, training, and benefits, then the company would pay tax on the other $50,000? ("pre-tax")

I can see how this would save the company money in terms of paying less taxes and having a healthy, well-motivated work force that would do much to assure better products, services, and sales, but what chunk does the investors dividends come from? The remaining $50,000?

If so, then if the company managed to cut employee expenses to $25,000 (slashing jobs, moving operations overseas, etc.), the investors' dividends would come from the remaining $75,000, the amount the company would also have to pay taxes on?

20. Yes, that's right, the dividends come out of what is left after taxes
Some goes to dividends, and some goes into retained earnings.

The lower the tax rate, the less motivation there is to forestall taxes by reinvesting in the company.

It's interesting to note that Japan's period of highest growth coincided with its having some of the highest corporate tax rates in the world. With high taxes, there was no motivation to show a large profit, so companies reinvested most of their earnings.
