My son and I joined the march as it entered Washington Square Park yesterday (Sat. 10/8/11). The crowd was pretty dense, and I hesitated to sit down on the hard paving stones, but what we witnessed, and participated in, was worth the aches and pains later. I am linking to some video we took of the process. It's not terrifying like some of the 'pepper spray' video that has been posted, nor fun and amusing like some of the many signs that have been posted. But I think it's a real look at a very interesting process, as a movement begins to form its own governing paradigms and structures.
Two important ingredients for moving toward meaningful change, perhaps, are educating each other and, not unrelated, learning to listen to each other.
Again, this is not a very 'sexy' video, but I think many of us here would do well to look closely and think about how we help start more such actions and movements in our own areas.
Everything in the video is done using the idea of "Human Microphone", which is necessary because there was no sound permit issued; also, though, the form seems to lend itself to both involvement and actual communication.

1: Video shows most of the assembly, but not the whole thing.
2: I would love to hear some comments from the DU community, about what are good ways to foster communication and education within a group.
