Wanna Really Know What's Going On With Pot Dispensaries ??? - Here's A Big One !!!
Cannabis Science announces manufacturing is underway for scheduled October
Denver - Pharmabiz
Monday, October 10, 2011, 17:00 Hrs

<snip>

Cannabis Science, Inc., a pioneering US biotech company developing pharmaceutical cannabis products, has announced that the manufacturing is underway for its upcoming release of the first Cannabis Science brand of products. The company expects to receive the first sample for market release testing in a few days. The company will then announce the formal release of the products through its designated suppliers. The initial Cannabis extract-based products will be made available to licensed medical marijuana patients in Colorado. The company will then expand across the United Stated in each legal State with special appointed legal distributors in each State.

In light of the accumulating anecdotal reports of the successful cancer treatments with cannabis extracts, the company will continue to keep patients updated on current peer-reviewed scientific literature supporting the historical and modern use of cannabis to treat "tumours”. Unlike conventional methods, cannabis medicines have an outstanding safety profile allowing patients in states with medical marijuana laws to safely make informed decisions to legally self-administration of various cannabis-based preparations.

Eventually, all Americans will have access to a safe and effective FDA approved medicine regardless of which state they live in. To maintain that marijuana is a dangerous, addictive drug with no medical value is scientifically absurd. Cannabis medicines, with no effective lethal dose, are far safer than aspirin, acetaminophen, and most other OTC drugs that kill thousands of Americans every year.

Cannabis Science, Inc. is at the forefront of pharmaceutical grade medical marijuana research and development. The company works with world authorities on phytocannabinoid science targeting critical illnesses, and adheres to scientific methodologies to develop, produce and commercialize phytocannabinoid-based pharmaceutical products.

8. yup-- self reliance is best....
'Course, these days-- living in northern California-- we're utterly awash in excellent bud so I'm happily supporting my local farmers rather than competing with them, LOL.

7. That's it in a nutshell. And luckily for the Big Pharma Corporations,
They own our elected officials. Especially in Congress and at the WH.

17. The saddest thing ever

is going to be witnessed here. All those fools who make fun of cannabis users - "they're all just losers and pot has no medical use whatsoever and why are you making such a big deal about legalization" (for me? I like to eat and have an appetite, but fuck me for wanting to eat!)- those same fools will be all fine with cannabis in a shiny package at a hefty price tag.

As long as it has a "brand name" and a corporation to "deal" it, those fools will be fine with it.

America: where we take Image over Substance VERY seriously!

20. I think you are absolutely correct.
That is a very astute observation. And you can bet that the concentration and potency will be far more than the current strains of smokable leaf which are considered soooo much more harmful because they are supposedly soooo much stronger than the pot we got in the 70s.

But it will be a pill, sold by a big drug company, which will make all those reefer madness claims suddenly moot.

21. Theonly good part will be

that, as long as they don't add any fillers, the television ads won't be as obnoxious.

Viewers won't have to contend with those 40 seconds - of every 60 second drug commercial - that warn about everything from four-hour erections to anal seepage. (I know, gross, right? but my friends and I love to bring it up when we make fun of Pharmco products)

Cannabis has very few side effects.

Thanks for your kind words, BTW :)

22. this is hardly BIg Pharma taking over.
frankly, it's amazing this is even getting a mention in a trade publication. the bulk of the work was done by a UCCS Biology Professor, Dr. Bob Melamede who has been doing the research for years, while teaching classes about his findings long before the recent green rush. in fact, he IS Cannabis Science. Dr. Bob is on "our" side. if cannabis is ever to be taken seriously, this work needs to be done, and it really is being done by relative nobodies. you can follow the money right to Colorado. i've not personally met Dr. Bob, but associates of his that i have met, smoke some of the nicest stuff there is. he is not looking to replace natural cannabis, he is trying to cure cancer.

it sounds like you are the one trying to "kill off the competition" here in Colorado. did you look into this any more than the article you posted? feel free to support your suggestion of Big Pharma being behind this.

23. I know Dr. Melamede at Cannabis Science and he is definitely one of the good guys.
The work he is doing is important and his support for safe access to medical cannabis -- in ALL its forms -- is unquestioned.

If anyone here is concerned about the money being made on this issue, you can start by stating that charging street prices for medical cannabis is immoral. That's where the real big bucks are being made now, and it is inexcusable.

Edited on Tue Oct-11-11 02:52 PM by Defectata
Cannabis Science may be a corporation, but they are not a huge one. Dr. Bob gets his medicine from ONE grower here in Colorado Springs, and I know both of them. If anything, he is helping the MMJ industry by getting the news out that there IS a medical application.
