THIS president thinks that proving his conservative bona-fides is the way to re-election?

11. Thaaaaat's nice.
When their actions actually match their words, I'll start giving a shit about their "official" support.

7. He figures he'll prevent the Repubs from using those as issues in his re-election effort
And most at DU seem to be OK with the extrajudicial execution issue. Not sure on medical marijuana.

19. in some ways he definitely is the opposition
evidently medical marijuana is one example where he is the opposition.

another is the Keystone pipeline

another appears to be global warming in general

another is protecting medicare

there are lots more... I don't care to count them now.

8. this is the problem with one-dimensional politics. he only has to be slightly to the left of the r's
seeing as the republicans have gone off the deep right-wing end, the democrats only have to be slightly to the left of that extreme right-wing position in order to be the better of the two available choices.

this is the when a party sacrifices principle for power. power to do what, exactly, other than to be the puppets of the rich, i don't know.

anyway, obama is likely to throw the left a few bones to pick up our campaign contributions before swinging back to the right to pick up the independents in the general election.

he knows what he's doing in terms of getting himself re-elected. but he's looking out for himself, not for the party, not for the people, not for liberalism.

15. cherry picking..
to select the best or most desirable.. pieces of information to reaffirm your assertion...

You could have easily picked any of the many numerous good things this administration has done that support OWS. But you chose not to.

You choose the propaganda that you choose... and you chose this.

What is your "mission"? What is your "end game"? What is your purpose of the OP?

Maybe we see things totally different. I do think we have the same mission and end game. More populist and liberal legislation. The means to the end is the question. I see the path as the re-election of the incumbent Democratic President that does have a populist streak if only he had a better Legislative Branch. Will it be everything we want? No.. but it will be better than the alternative, there would be a lot of great things as there already have been and it could lead us on a path of increased populist and liberal ideals.

I think OWS is fantastic. It helps change the narrative. It is what we need. IMO - what we don't need is using it against the elected officials that ARE on our side. You may not see it.. but I do hope that most of us in States that went from a Dem Gov to a Repug Gov see it VERY, VERY clearly...
