1. One couldn't exist without the other.
They both keep the other in business. I guess that doesn't really answer the question.

2. Ralph Nader once said ...
... there is a slim glimmer of hope for the Democratic Party and no hope at all for the Republican Party.

I answered Yes to the poll question, but I guess I really don't see the GOP as a viable alternative at all. Now, the Democratic Party vis-a-vis Third Parties, there some real room for discussion there.

4. Electorally? Well yes, of course.
Morally? For me, no. If the Party would quit actively working against its own stated Platform and started to seek its implementation, it would be for me.

5. Sadly, it's the ONLY viable alternative where Federal elections are concerned........
...and maybe for some time. However, though, on the local level, I believe it could very well be a different story.

7. The Democratic Party is at the moment the only alternative. Republicans have ceased to exist for me.
Republicans are against 99% of the people in this country. Democrats may or may not be corporate shills, you have to look at their individual records...Republicans not so much.

8. I'm very unhappy with the national party and Obama, but
I am very happy with our local Los Angeles Democrats and our local Representatives. Very happy.
