2. Someone on the live feed said...
...that they were on the ground--and there were eight ambulances, in addition to the police cars.

I can't verify that this is true. This was just one of the comments from someone who was supposedly
there, on the ground.

If true, sounds like major intimidation tactics. I live in Des Moines, and they used dogs on our protesters
last night, and they pepper sprayed many, one person who was in zip-tie handcuffs.

45. Those aren't all camera flashes
They did that to us, too. The flashes of bright light are meant to disorient protestors so they can be scooped up a little more easily.

49. Beating up on Veterans for Peace members, no less. Time for
a general strike to shut Boston down. No more business as usual. Shut down Harvard, Boston U., MIT and all the other academic centers and get the students out in the streets.

A couple of DUers who are Veterans for Peace have been at the protests all along. I have to wonder if they're there tonight. There's no excuse for the cops to beat anyone, but I'll be even more pissed if it's people I know.

41. Governor Patrick is a graduate of Harvard College, the first in his family to attend college, and of
and of Harvard Law School. Following law school, he served as a law clerk to a federal appellate judge before joining the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund as a staff attorney. In 1986, he joined the Boston law firm of Hill & Barlow and was named partner in 1990, at the age of 34.

In 1994, President Clinton appointed Patrick Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, the nation's top civil rights post. At the Justice Department, Patrick worked on a wide range of issues, including prosecution of hate crimes, and the enforcement of employment discrimination, fair lending and disabilities rights laws.

In 1997, Patrick was appointed the first chairperson of Texaco's Equality and Fairness Task Force where he led a company-wide effort to create a more equitable workplace environment. The Governor later served as Texaco’s Vice President and General Counsel, leading the company's global legal affairs, and as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of the Coca-Cola Company, a member of the company's senior leadership team.

Diane and Deval Patrick have been married for more than twenty-five years and have two adult daughters.http://www.mass.gov/?pageID=gov3utilities&sid=Agov3&U=Agov3_Deval_Patrick_welcome_msg

44. This is sickening
and yes, I faced the same kind of goons in much the same place 40 years ago.

The excuse last time: blocked traffic. The excuse this time: a newly renovated park.

These are the guys they keep in the basement of the District 4 cop shop and feed on raw meat.

We need people to keep getting arrested, overwhelm the system. It's the only way to stop scumbags like Menino.

51. I'm going to ask people to hold back on specualtion...
I am going down to Dewey Square to get facts.

At this point, I left last night at 1030, things were tense, but nothing had happened. The flower beds, (an area of contention), a had not been damaged, (but from what I saw on a short video, the BPD did a job on the flower beds).

I know for a fact, that early on in the Occupation that donations were asked for to reseed/sod the Occupation site, because occupiers knew damage would ensue. I do not know how much was collected, but last Friday I saw a half gallon jar pretty well fulled w/cash of various denominations, to include quite a few $20's. The Occupiers are being exceptionally diligent on keeping the area as clean as possible and are well prepared to do what's necessary to bring it back to it's former state.

Needless to say, once the BPD went in, all bets were off as to keeping the area decent. This is BPD's fault, no one elses.
