You can't be.... SERIES. "We Are the 53%"
The Right-Wing Version of ‘We Are the 99 Percent’

Did you know that if you are uninsured or jobless, you should just suck it up? That if you're overworked or underemployed, you should be thankful? Learn all that—and more!—at "We Are the 53%," the right wing's incredibly depressing response to Occupy Wall Street!

"We Are the 53%" was created by CNN's chief goat-fucking correspondent Erick Erickson as a response to "We Are the 99 Percent," an Occupy Wall Street-affiliated blog that collects the stories of the underemployed, overworked, debt-ridden and uninsured victims of the recession. Erickson's blog gets its name from the popular (and wildly simplistic!) Republican talking point that only 53 percent of households pay federal income taxes, and Erickson himself sets the tone:

Full size

I work 3 jobs.
I have a house a can't sell.
My family insurance costs are outrageous.
But I don't blame Wall Street.
Suck it up you whiners.
I am the 53% subsidizing you so you can hang out on Wall Street and complain.

We'll be honest: when your three jobs include "appearing on CNN" and "starting Tumblrs," our sympathy is... somewhat limited. Also, if your house can't sell, you probably should blame Wall Street, because the subprime mortgage crisis and housing market crash really is Wall Street's fault. And, hmm, the thing about "complaining" is that it's, well, kind of how politics works!

1. Well I'm in the 53% too
And I don't have lobbyists, lawyers, accountants and bought and paid for politicians to give me special tax privileges and writeoffs.

And I'd really like to see a lot less of what I ay go down the rathole that is the US defense budget.

2. Would be more impactful commentary without the goat fucking part.

3. Why feign objectivity?... when referring to someone who calls protestors whiners?

4. There is no need to resort to name-calling when we have much stronger weapons.

6. You say "name-calling", I say "adjective"
I disagree with the aesthetics that you are trying to foist upon the OP, and I disagree with your implication of deligitimation of a sentiment/point based upon the employment of an aesthetic that you apparently feel is axiomatic rather than merely subjective.

7. There are plenty of intelligent adjectives which would work much better.

8. You mean adjectives like "Pig Slop Slurpers"?
"Mouth Breathers Aspiring to Reclassification as Dumb Shits"?

"Toe Lickers Who Misunderstood the Concept of Toad Licking"?

"Pig Fuckers Who're So Stupid That They Fuck Goats Mistakenly Thinking That They Are Pigs"?

"Presbyterians"?

"Half-Heartedly Half-Witted De Facto Quarter-Wits"?

I think any of these would work equally well as "goat-fuckers"... I'm curious which you think is most "intelligent" (I think, personally, that "Half-Heartedly Half-Witted De Facto Quarter-Wits" is the most "intelligent", as it has mathematical allusions... though I think "Presbyterian" might, indeed, be over-the-top insulting— but I include it nonetheless to include a variety of adjectives to choose from.

Or, perhaps you'd like to provide an "intelligent" adjective? Rather than just holding back in order to be able to judge without fear of being judged...

5. I'd love to know how they came up with 53%.
It seems overly optimistic for the number of us who still believe right wing bullshit about the economy.

We've tried their way for over 30 years. IT DID NOT WORK.

And I doubt that anyone over the ornery and spiteful 23% of us who still liked Dubya is still buying it.
