Poll question: Are these disgusting crackdowns being coordinated, and if yes, by who?
I'm reading these reports and shaking my head... It's terrible!

Do you think this is a coordinated effort from a few very high up people contacting the PTB and telling them to put the vice grip down on the protestors because this movement is becoming a potential threat to their control? Or no, and that it's just random?

being in the parks late, because we are in a world of hurt here in the USA (many of the 99%), and people can't find work, are living with friends/family or homeless, and are angry and yet, and YET, the protesters have been nearly unanimously peaceful whereas the police brutality is rampant! So, to say they shouldn't be in the parks is a weak response to peaceful protesting corruption!

way past time now for a GENERAL STRIKE to shut this country down. NO BUSINESS AS USUAL.

10. yeah, when I posted I didn't even know about the Atlanta info... way too obvious what went down.
The big day for protest coming up should also be a declaration to shut down the country with workers not going in until the POTUS speaks about what he will instruct his Justice Dept and Dem. leaders to push for investigations, changes, and such. I know these things are all speculative at this point, and what fully went down until daylight comes, but this seems to be a highly forceful act to quash the OWS movement and it seems like someone (not sure who that is yet, of course) had their hands in this...

13. GENERAL STRIKE NOW! In the words of the late Mario Savio:
"There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious—makes you so sick at heart—that you can't take part. You can't even passively take part. And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all." UC-Berkeley, 1964

18. right, and I don't wanna believe that, if so, the shit will hit the fan
and there will be larger numbers, I hope, in the future from people seeing this around the USA, and getting pissed at this forceful action in multiple states that are too similar to be "chance". I think an organized strike by labor to shut down the cities is becoming a possible necessity.

Seriously, other than a dislike for the gubmint, what makes you think police chiefs need DHS's permission to arrest people?

33. No need to coordinate, they've had mostly identical training
based on identical theory. So police tactics are quite similar whether they are deployed in Des Moines or Boston.

32. I think it's ad hoc coordination.
One police chief calls a police chief in another city, they compare notes, etc. There are only a few ways they can handle this, and as this pops up in more cities, we'll see some patterns emerging.

All the locations, proximate times the respective ops started etc? Were they all under the same deadline warnings that Boston's allegedly was (given until midnight)?

38. We need to remember who's in control...those with the power.
The same people we're protesting against. They are afraid and will do whatever they need to do to maintain the status quo. It could get very, very ugly. I just hope WE THE PEOPLE have the fortitude to stand up to them.

39. It's the Koch brothers, silly.
I mean, isn't it Ron-Obvious?
After all, they own everyone and everything...
They can even get away with TREASON without anyone raising
much more than a minor stink about it.
And they speak for all the Wall Street Traitors who have
brought this country to its knees in this Brave New Millenium.

Besides, it's October... and those Koch brothers, they just
LOVE their silly Halloween pranks, don't they?

This, btw, is the answer to most of the grave questions facing us these days.
Personally, I think it should be the new meme of the age:

IT'S THE KOCH BROTHERS, STUPID.

K&R to the OP for asking the obvious question before anyone else.
