George W. Bush, who famously declared that how history would judge him over the Iraq war didn't matter because, "We'll all be dead," has changed his tune in response to finding out that only one in three vets thinks the wars were worth fighting.

Now the former president is saying:

"I hope history proves them wrong."

"The only way for there to be peace is for free societies to emerge. And, you know, history takes a while to unfold," he told ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff in an exclusive interview yesterday. "I happen to think it was worth fighting. Otherwise, I wouldn't have put them into combat."

Translation = I and my BFF's made a lot of money. We happen to think it was worth fighting. Unkle KKKarl and Unkle Dick will rewrite the history anyway.

he has thrust into the meat grinder is to sponsor golf tournaments. I'm not saying that such opportunities aren't of value to some of these people, but it to me, it is a shallow choice of assistance. A frat boy's idea of beneficence. What about building a rehab facility or helping with housing solutions for those injured? What about creating education or job opportunities?

I just think it must blunt the criticisms of him to be able to chat with vets in a venue that can be considered his own turf (literally). This man still disgusts me beyond words.
