If only I had access to our modern health care
I could get this dead root taken care of. I could have my heart checked out, because I needed surgery many years ago. I could have a colo-rectal exam, recommended by doctors.

What would you have done or checked if it didn't drain your savings?

1. Same as you
but I already had the heart attack and three stents (without insurance - I'll be paying for THAT the rest of my life) and the pre-cancerous polyps removed (just before I lost my insurance.) It would also be nice if I knew why I was getting nauseous every night about 4:00 am. Oh well, guess that will just leave more for the 1%.

3. Sorry to hear that
Standing. Imagine, these people who demand no universal health care believe they will be accepted into Heaven. They're in for a big surprise.

2. I know my thyroid is malfunctioning
all the classic symptoms and it runs in the family (both sides). I can afford the prescription, but not the dr visits and tests to confirm what I already know. so I take kelp everyday which helps with most of the symptoms.

don't even get me started on what I need for dental.. :(

4. I hear commercials all the time
recommending procedures that could save your life. Sometimes I yell at the radio.

5. I am speaking for my friend of 40+ years....
He would have gone to a doctor and been treated for his CHF.
He wouldn't have "had to wait til Medicare kicked in".... in another year.
He would have had his sister call an ambulance because his "cold" was getting very bad.
He would have stayed alive.
He wouldn't have died.

RIP Steve.

8. I'm so sorry.
No one should have to die due to lack of health care. If we can afford multiple wars of choice, we can afford health care for all citizens.

9. We cannot claim to be even a decent country, let alone great, if we can't even heal our sick.

Universal.

Healthcare.

It's the only way, and it will come, because there is no choice. The only question is how many will suffer how much for how long until we get there.

10. I'm feeling much sympathy with you.
I had a laundry list of untreated ailments when I turned 65 and I did have insurance except that the deductible was so high as to make it useless. When I got Medicare at the age of 65, I was able to address all my problems and still am able to get what I need. The fact that the Republicans are trying to gut and make Medicare crash makes me cry. I hope you can hang in there until you are 65 and that Medicare is intact for you. I know I am doing everything I can to make sure that it's there for you.
