The net worth of GOP presidential contenders
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/44836853/ns/business-us_business/

Judging from the net worths of the nine leading Republican presidential nominees, politicians need to be wealthy to run for high office. By most Americans’ standards, all nine are considered rich. The wealthiest candidate, Mitt Romney, is worth somewhere between $190 million and $250 million. Those on the lower end of the spectrum, such as Rick Santorum and Rick Perry, are still worth at least $1 million. The wealth of these politicians has been amassed in several ways.

Others have made their money more directly from their politics before becoming a presidential candidate. Libertarian candidate Ron Paul has published a number of best-selling books over the last few years, each of which explores his political ideology. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich became a consultant and political analyst after he resigned from office. Rick Santorum has worked as a consultant and contributor to Fox News.

2. Paupers, compared to their masters. Koch's increased their net worth $5.5 Billion...
...last year. Each. That's $100 million a week. Net. They gained as much as Romney's net worth every two weeks. Each.

3. Oh, they're all wealthy -- but they're not really worth anything.
At least not to the rest of us.

4. Unrec. The Clintons are worth at least $40 million. The Obamas, at least $5 million (MORE to come!)
Do you people not understand the concept of a double edged sword??? :hi:

5. And that has what to do with a 'news site' article?

6. Highlighting Republican wealth while ignoring Democratic wealth is disingenuous
at best, and counter-productive, at worst.

Remember, it was Democratic strategist George Lakoff who taught us that introducing a "frame" always subtly reinforces the opposite frame. Or, in simpler terms, if you bring up Republican wealth, you are also bringing up Democratic wealth. And the comparison isn't particularly flattering. :hi:
