Can anybody cite one act of violence by OWS protesters?
Edited on Tue Oct-11-11 05:05 PM by Brigid
Any threats? Weapons? Racist signs? Anything? Beuller?

I know that's more than can be said for tea party events. So what are the cops, mayors, and one-percenters really worried about? What's with the SWAT teams and pepper spray?

1. Occupy Houston is the closest to me and they've bent over backward to be
non-partisan and positive in their messaging. The 1%'ers are worried about resistance because there are so many more of us than them. The mayor and police are simply following orders.

3. Both parties are worried when they see something happening that

smells of a real democracy expressing the frustration of the masses. Our society is controlled, for the most part, through propaganda. When cracks appear in the propagandistic brain washing, TPTB start to worry at many levels. Especially when it starts to cross party lines and uniting common frustrations.

4. Yes, I have seen video of several OWS protestors, all women, viciously impeding the movement ...
of an innocent stream of pepper spray.

9. There is a lot of anger out there right now. But so far no actions I've seen.
But I have seen some words, online mainly. A lot of folks are pissed off right now and it's understandable that they'd need to vent. Like any group that grows in size, it's going to pick up folks of all shades and stripes, including folks who are more inclined to talk openly about violence. When push comes to shove, what matter is actions not words.

10. If a cop goes to beat you and you try to defend yourself, they count that as violence
Always have, always will. Cops love to beat up on people. And with this philosophy, it's win-win. Remember Rodney King? When he tried to stop them from beating him senseless, he was charged with resisting arrest.
