There is nothing more important that has come the pike than the Jobs Bill
during the Obama Administration, with the exception of probably the healthcare bill. This country NEEDS jobs. We are in a depression, regardless of what it is called.

1. Quite frankly, we need much more than this current jobs bill.
We need a full-blown WPA to really get the unemployment rate back down under 5%.

These half-assed stimulus measures are only a small drop in the bucket as to what really needs to be done to seriously put people back to work.

cannot even get all the dems in the senate to approve so how in the hell do you think a bigger bill could pass...OBAMA IS NOT A KING AND DOES NOT RUN CONGRESS.

7. I wasn't blaming Obama.
And I don't disagree that this Jobs Bill is better than nothing.

Indeed, the Congress is the biggest impediment to putting people back to work in this country.

9. sorry for misunderstanding you....
Obama gets blamed so much here for congress' weaknesses that I automatically assume everyone is doing it...my apologies to you! :-)

3. And it's dead in the water now
It will have to be broken up in pieces, which will make it far less effective. I feel despair about our Congress.

6. And funny enough, if you take a good look at this so called Jobs Bill,
It is, once again, mostly a tax cut and tax credit bill. Much like the original stimulus bill, it is trying to use the least effective tools in the economic tool chest in order to stimulate the economy.

Worse, whatever job creation provisions will be stripped out and it will simply become another vehicle with which the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

Returning verizon workers.
