Occupy Wall Street name recognition soars: 82% of Americans have heard of protest movement
http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2011/10/12/2011-10-12_occupy_wall_street_name_recognition_soars_82_of_americans_have_heard_of_protest_.html

The Occupy Wall Street protesters haven't been able to articulate precisely what they want yet - but their general cry of rage is being heard far and wide.

A remarkable 82% of Americans have heard of the protest movement, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Wednesday.

By comparison, only 53% of those in a recent Pew poll could name even one of the Republicans running for president.

Of those who had heard of the anti-corporate protest movement that began in New York but has now spread to more than 1,000 communities, more supported it than did not.

Of those who had heard of Occupy Wall Street, a new poll found more supported the movement than opposed it.

4. That's awesome.. More people know what OWS is than who is running for
the Republican Presidential candidate.. So, when these yahoos actually do pick a candidate and people are stuck looking and listening to them, the Republican contender will sound so out of touch to the people that they will completely unelectable. Watch President Obama's approval numbers soar as the movement continues and Obama continues to hammer the Republicans to pass a jobs bill to get people working again.

6. The fact that OWS Groups are popping up all over the country.
For example, here in Ohio I have heard heard of Columbus
Cincinati have OWS Groups.

OWS gets covered with these, Local and National.

8. "HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO ARTICULATE WHAT THEY WANT" - just stop it already!!!!
The media is behaving like a three year old with his fingers in his ears going "LA LA LA I can't hear you!" The message is being stated loud and clear.

The problem all along has been that the history of financial regulations and deregulations, and WTF happened to us in the last 10-20 years can't be summed up in 2 or 3 word soundbytes.

To the media: if you're not up to the challenge of trying to explain this to the american people, then at least SHUT UP AND LISTEN while other people are attempting to articulate it.

15. The park is privately owned
It must remain publicly accessible 24/7, according to the terms of agreement with the city. It's not Mayor Bloomberg's call.

14. It's not ANTI-CORPORATE, it's ANTI CORPORATE FASCISM AND CORRUPTION
Edited on Thu Oct-13-11 01:13 PM by Lorien
We don't hate corporations; some of us are incorporated! What we object to is corporate greed, corruption, and the corporate takeover of our government (Fascism). Let's set that record straight asap!
