Keith Olbermann calls Florida Republican lawmaker an ‘a$$hole’

Current TV host Keith Olbermann called Florida state Rep. Brad Drake (R) an “asshole” on Wednesday for introducing legislation to replace lethal injection as a execution method with electrocution or a firing squad. Drake said he got the idea for the bill after talking to someone at a Waffle House.

Well, at least we are now aware of where the Repukes get their ideas. Thank gawd the A$$HOLE was not at Black Angus ~~ he might have intro'd a bill to have executions done on a BBQ spit.

5. Perhaps I'm wrong..
but I don't think this Drake guy wants to replace the method of execution with a firing squad, he just wants to offer it as an option. Here in Washington state a condemned prisoner has the choice of lethal injection or hanging..

17. He hates lethal injections
Florida lawmaker Brad Drake says he is "sick and tired of this sensitivity movement for criminals" and has introduced a bill that would end the state's practice of execution by lethal injection and replace it with the electric chair -- or, if the inmate requests, a firing squad.

of bacon is an expert on anything...

Perhaps I was expecting that this Waffle House adviser might want to execute by smothering and scattering....

10. Waffle House? Bill Hicks:
I've noticed a certain anti-intellectualism going around this country; since about 1980, coincidentally enough. … I was in Nashville, Tennessee, and after the show I went to a Waffle House. I'm not proud of it, but I was hungry. And I'm sitting there eating and reading a book. I don't know anybody, I'm alone, so I'm reading a book. The waitress comes over to me like, "What'chu readin' for?" I had never been asked that. Not "What am I reading?", but "What am I reading for?" Goddangit, you stumped me. Hmm, why do I read? I suppose I read for a lot of reasons, one of the main ones being so I don't end up being a fucking waffle waitress.

14. Replacing it with electrocution would be assholish...
but if we've GOT to execute people, and there seems to be a genetic predisposition toward offing criminals in the Deep South, firing squad would be the best option.

Google Romell Broom. Mr. Broom was taken to the room where they prepare prisoners for execution and stabbed with needles 18 times while they attempted to hook him up and failed. He's still in jail.

Google Joseph Clark. This guy took 90 minutes to kill from first stick to last breath. He yelled out "it don't work" five times and asked if they could give him "something by mouth to end this."

Contrast that with Gary Gilmore, who died the second the five cops who executed him pulled the trigger.

15. Why not bring back drawing and quartering?
or burning at the stake! How about stoning or crucification? It's high time we stop coddling these people with lethal injections! :sarcasm:
