Women on the Pill pick boring lovers, good partners, study claims
Ladies, if you feel your partner is a great provider -- but meh in the love-making department -- it may have something to do with your birth control.

Women who were taking contraceptive pills when they met their significant other were more likely to stay in the relationship than women who weren’t on the Pill, according to new research. While the partners of the non-Pill taking women tend to be more handsome and better in the sack, their relationships just didn’t have the same staying power.

Good-looking and sexy or dull and nice. Seems there's always a trade-off when it comes to love.

The study was posted online Wednesday by the Proceedings of the Royal Society B.

1. The pill puts you on an even keel. I had to go off it after a few years, it made me
feel "blah" and kind of depressed.

2. I hadn't heard about that...
You'd think that such side effects would be better publcicized since the pill is so wide-spread.

5. I think it has different effects on different women--I know I prefer having
normal hormone fluctuations. I had to go back on the pill for a short while a couple years ago (after many years without it) to control heavy bleeding, and I instantly gained weight, felt blue, and one day my feet and ankles puffed up to where I couldn't put my shoes on. It's got some weird effects on me.

6. That's true, effects will vary...
Hope you didn't have to stya on it long...the feeling blue part would bother me the most. That would affect everything else you do.

4. Couple of alternative explanations.
1) unplanned pregnancy is a relationship strain.
2) women who take the pill are arguably more stable, sensible and responsible and are more likely to value those traits.

idiotic.

8. Yep. I came up with about ten alternatives before writing off the article
For one thing, "exciting in bed" isn't a fixed quantity, it's culturally programmed, and Westerners are programmed to like "bad boys".
