Police: Parents storm field during children’s game
CARROLL COUNTY, Ga. —

Two youth football teams are serving suspensions after parents tried to fight the young players on the field, according to a police report.

Naketa Parham's son plays for the city of Carrollton's recreational youth football team. At Saturday's game against Carroll County recreational team for 11-12 year olds, Parham said things turned violent when parents from the county team rushed onto the field. She told Channel 2's Amy Napier Viteri they were upset with some of the play calling.

"These were parents and coaches on the field trying to fight these 11 and 12-year-old boys," she added.

According to a police report, several parents ran onto the field and yelled obscenities. A referee, who did not want to be identified, said at least one person pushed him and yelled profanities.

1. WTH?! Those people need to get a grip. It's a kids game. Let them have fun and if
you have a problem with how the plays are being called, take it up with the rec club director.

2. Parents are getting uglier and uglier at their kids' games
Fights in the stands, rude shouts, insults and gestures, going off on the ref, other kids or even their own kid. It amazes me.

5. I don't think that it's even that,
I simply think that it is another sign of the behavioral sink our society has become.

10. Yeah, fights in the stands are bad -- much safer to fight out on the field.
But first those damn kids have to be shoved out of the way. ;-)

6. It's nothing that guns can't solve!
Where the hell are the gun owners?

A few shots fired into the air and you've got everyone's attention. If anybody decides to challenge your ruling, a wound will make them reconsider.

Sheesh.

11. Good point. But with whole teams on the field, hand grenades may be necessary.

9. What's wrong with those kids? Interfering with their parents' fighting by trying to play football?
And of course the kids who were attacked should be suspended because they brazenly got attacked.

;-)
