Funny how the right-wing once cheered Lech Walesa
Of course, that was back when he was fighting against evil communism in Poland.

Now that he's supporting those fighting against evil corporations in the US, they consider him an enemy. Funnier still, I've heard some teabaggers actually say he's a commie.

7. He is so right. Communism did not pose a serious threat to our capitalist
economy. But the excesses of Wall Street are exposing a side to capitalism that is unacceptable. We need to return to capitalism without such great concentrations of power and such monopolization or cartel control of our markets.

Here are the quotes from Walesa.

They are protesting the "unfairness" of an economy that enriches a few and "throws the people to the curb," he said in a recent interview.

"That's why union leaders and capitalists need to figure out what to do, because otherwise they will have to contend with a worldwide revolt against capitalism," he said.

Call it what you will, Communism or capitalism, systems that effectively disenfranchise the masses of people whether through economic dominance or doctrine are unacceptable and cannot survive.

We can still reform our system and make it work. I really don't want to see my country go through the upheaval that Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union have seen.

4. You mean, the same sociopaths who accused every bu$h critics...
in a time of war of being un-patriotic, then never stopped critisizing Obama since day one?

Seriously? :sarcasm:

5. Walesa wanted to replace Stalinism with worker-owned
cooperatives. His efforts were short-circuited by American economists of the monstrous Friedman school. Naomi Klein documents it at length in "The Shock Doctrine."

The same thing happened to Gorbachev, who wanted Russia to be a Scandinavian-style social democracy. The same people did him in, with a big assist from the drunken buffoon, Boris Yeltsin, who was in it for nothing but his own financial interests. Again, Klein provides the deep explanation.

11. Here's what they don't get.
He was legitimately against the incompetence & even occasional corruption that did sometimes plague many of the European Communist nations, and was genuinely pro-freedom. Whereas, our teabaggers..........are neither.
