#OccupyRochester to occupy foreclosed homes
In a twist to the Occupy movement which has spread nationwide, protesters have taken to occupying urban public spaces, the group has decided to target bank foreclosed properties and occupy those spaces instead.

I think this is a brilliant idea!

Thoughts?

2. What are squatters laws there?
I know in some states/cities that squatters actually have rights of ownership/can't be removed from the property after squatting for a certain amount of time.

3. It's especially brilliant if they improve the properties in any way...
Like the OWS protestors on Wall Street last night cleaned things up, if we "clean things up" other places where we "occupy" it sends a clear message.

And it's good PR.

No doubt there are legalities which differ from location to location, however.

5. Start with ones which were questionably or out right illegally seized
And try to bring the owners back in as well, or pass it back to them.

10. Not me. I think it's a great idea. And yes
they are risking arrest. But then they're apparently risking arrest most places just by occupying public places.

11. Bad idea.
And no I don't care to elaborate.
If you can't figure out why there's no use in explaining it.
