snip~

"Second, we stand for universal values, including the rights of the ... people to freedom of assembly, freedom of speech, and the freedom to access information. Once more, we've seen the incredible potential for technology to empower citizens and the dignity of those who stand up for a better future. And going forward, the United States will continue to stand up for democracy and the universal rights that all human beings deserve..."*

Finally, the President stands up for the OWS protesters and.........wait..........what?

Nevermind.

4. Eh, Obama can't win for losing, if he comes out in support, he'll be bashed for politicizing it.
So he'll keep quiet on the matter and take the bashing from the other side of the argument. After all, OWS is going to help his reelection, not hinder it.

5. In all fairness to the President
my OP was more about the general hypocrisy among elected officials in this country rather than anything specific about him. His speech on the Egyptian uprising was illustrative to prove the point.

HOWEVER, anything a president does or says is a two-edged sword, so they might as well take a few slices to the cheek as opposed to being decapitated.

9. Economic Policy Institute sez free trade agreements will . . .
Cost Americans 214,000 jobs over the next few years:

Another triumph for capitalism! Free money for the elites! Yay, America!

8. Or is he just "hearing voices"?
he signs the free trade agreements which will, given our current environment of corporate controlled everything, will no doubt wind up costing US jobs, yet, last week he put forth his jobs bill, which anyone paying attention was doomed for failing via repuke obstructionism.

So let's recap: jobs bill is vaporware, to show he means "business" and cares about unemployed Americans, without actually taking a risk, but then signs a free trade agreement which will, no doubt, cost jobs at no risk to corporations, but a very high risk to the American people.
