"No problem. We take care of our own around here."
Edited on Fri Oct-14-11 12:37 PM by Zorra
This is what the maintenance guy in the motel said when he brought a microwave to my room after I thanked him, with the security guy that came along nodding and smiling.

They know I'm here to occupy.

Gave me a warm fuzzy, and I thought I'd share it.

Solidarity.

2. Shocking, innit?
The degree to which people know they're being screwed by the system, and their willingness to help change it, even if they can't do it directly. Okay, maybe not so shocking. The folks in charge would be well advised to tread very, very carefully in the coming weeks and months.

5. Yep
I'm getting good at ignoring or at least discounting the Eeyores and seeing the positives. Our elected officials in Washington seem a trifle slow on the uptake (Free trade agreements that will cost us another 214,000 jobs? For reals?), but I think many of them will soon be "getting it."
