The whole first year of his presidency was based on HCR.

Obama Administration Cuts Major Part Of Health Care Reform Law

"WASHINGTON — The Obama administration Friday pulled the plug on a major program in the president's signature health overhaul law – a long-term care insurance plan dogged from the beginning by doubts over its financial solvency."

1. do you really need to ask?
I mean seriously.

the only real stuff getting done well is the stuff that benefits elites. Ted Kennedy is spinning in his grave over this -- so loud it can probably be heard.

5. I couldn't
agree with your post more. I often think of how Teddy would be reeling if he were still alive to see what a disappointment Obama has become and how he has turned his back on everything he campaigned for... To think of the campaign boosting send off he and Caroline gave BHO with that: I feel a change in the air...

Some change, some hope... NOT!

2. LTC was supposed to be a community based service that saved money.
Instead, it ended up costing lots of money. Keeping it in it's current format would have given republicans a prime route to attack other parts of HC reform. Better to end LTC and come up with an alternative that works as intended, than to allow it to serve as a conduit for elimination of HCR.

As it should have been done the first time?

7. And so it begins....
Who wants to bet that all the things that help people and gives them insurance and lowers costs get gutted and the only thing that remains is the mandate.

8. To answer your question: No, they are not competent. Think about it, Obama keeps losing the
messaging war to a bunch of illiterate morans called the tea party.

9. "Let's break it up into small pieces, and find out what the Republicans like."
Seems to be a recurring theme...

11. And we already know the answer. They like tax cuts for the rich and deregulation for corporations.
