The 55-Size Individually Fit Condom Line Is Here
http://blogs.villagevoice.com/runninscared/2011/10/the_55-size_individually_sized_condom.php

Closing out the week on the condom beat, it's come to our attention that there's a new condom out there, being sold by our friends at Condomania who, as we wrote earlier this week, are selling an Occupy Wall Street condom and also kindly giving it away free to protesters. (The company asks that you be patient with your requests as they've had a busy week; they will get to you!). But we couldn't resist asking some more questions, because, well, when you have something of a condom expert on the phone, what else can you possibly do? Adam Glickman of Condomania informed us that there's a new condom, just out this week, that may change condoms forever.

In response to our question of "What's your best-selling condom of all time?" Glickman said, "In the world of standard condoms, there are two that have emerged as the real winners. One is in the ultra-thin condom camp; it's called Crown. It's really the epitome of Japanese latex technology. Also there's the Trojan Ecstasy, which is about the shape of the condom -- a third of it flares out, and it's this big, loosely fitting condom that's lubricated on the inside. As for the unconventional condoms, there's a line that we just reintroduced that has 55 sizes of condoms."

55 SIZES OF CONDOMS?

The back story on the line is that it existed from 2004 to 2006 (it was called TheyFit back then, and garnered a customer list of 27,000 people). The line came off the market in 2007 due to complexities of making them and issues with the manufacturer. But this week, the line is back, and it's called Coripa. There's a fit-kit downloadable that instructs you on measuring width and girth. A condom with a fit-kit. This is, like, the BRA of condoms!

2. The marketing people...
.. have listed the 55 sizes.

They range from "Really Big" all the way up to "Unfuckingbelievably Huge"

Nobody's gonna sell a "Small" condom.

5. Reminds me about the joke about the Russian condom shortage.
The Soviet leader called the US and asked the President if he could arrange for 1 million 10" long condoms to be shipped to the Soviet Union. "No problem," the President said. He called a condom maker and placed the order. "Make sure all those condoms say, "Made in America - Size Small."

The President's name changes from decade to decade on this one.

22. None of that crap exists in Italy. You want strong coffee in a short cup,
you ask for un caffè. You want milk? Cappuchino. You get it in a china cup, not a giant/dense cardboard container. You slam it down, and you go on your way.

There are a few other variations (Milanese--they dilute it for the busy person to chug) but that's the general gist. All that venti shit is a marketing invention by Starbucks w/no currency in the place where the concept of 'coffee bars' has been at a peak for well over a century.

24. I didn't claim any Italian-ness of those terms. Plus, when you say...
"You slam it down, and you go on your way" are you talking about condoms or coffee? ;)

But I was talking about the coffee--a cappucino condom is just too odd to 'conceive!'

8. Any DUers here used the Crown condoms? Are they really that good?
I don't have a need for them but, oh lord, even the best condoms I tried when I was younger just sucked rocks. Of course, even the least-sensitive condom is preferable to getting an STD. I'm snipped so more babies are not an issue.

28. It depends.
Primarily on your "size". I used to be a fan of Crown Condoms, but they apparently moved the factory from Japan to Thailand a few years ago. When they did that, they retooled the production lines and made the condoms narrower. Uncomfortably so for me. I'd used them for several years, but had to stop when the Japanese Crown supplies ran out. I've since stopped using latex entirely, and have been using the Avanti Bare, which are very, very good. They are NOTHING like the thick bicycle tubes they handed out to us in health class way back when.

I always give condoms away for the holidays. Kids today are on a budget, so grab a few boxes, wrap 'em up and deliver condoms to all the young people you know.

They - and their local health departments - will thank you.

27. This is good news
Most men, including me, will tell you that CONDOMS SUCK. Unless you are perfectly "average" in all measurements, they never fit right. They're too tight, too loose, too long, or too short. They tend to get in the way of enjoying the experience and can turn mindblowing sex into humdrum sex. I can say, for myself, that I've never once had earth-shattering sex while wearing a condom.

The fact that condom manufacturers are now SERIOUSLY working on ways to improve them (and I mean real improvements, not silly bumps and ridges) is a good thing, and not something that should be mocked. A well fitting, thin condom that transmits sensations effectively is a condom that will actually be WORN by more men. That reduces STD rates, unplanned pregnancies, and sheet changes.
