Limbaugh complains Pres. Obama's declaring war on Christians in Uganda
Lord Limbaugh: http://lezgetreal.com/2011/10/rush-limbaugh-defends-terrorist-murderers-the-lords-reistance-army/

___ "Now, up until today, most Americans have never heard of the combat Lord’s Resistance Army. And here we are at war with them. Have you ever heard of Lord’s Resistance Army, Dawn? How about you, Brian? Snerdley, have you? You never heard of Lord’s Resistance Army? Well, proves my contention, most Americans have never heard of it, and here we are at war with them. Lord’s Resistance Army are Christians. It means God. I was only kidding. Lord’s Resistance Army are Christians. They are fighting the Muslims in Sudan. And Obama has sent troops, United States troops to remove them from the battlefield, which means kill them. That’s what the lingo means, “to help regional forces remove from the battlefield,” meaning capture or kill."

"Lord’s Resistance Army objectives. I have them here. “To remove dictatorship and stop the oppression of our people.” Now, again Lord’s Resistance Army is who Obama sent troops to help nations wipe out. The objectives of the Lord’s Resistance Army, what they’re trying to accomplish with their military action in these countries is the following: “To remove dictatorship and stop the oppression of our people; to fight for the immediate restoration of the competitive multiparty democracy in Uganda; to see an end to gross violation of human rights and dignity of Ugandans; to ensure the restoration of peace and security in Uganda, to ensure unity, sovereignty, and economic prosperity beneficial to all Ugandans, and to bring to an end the repressive policy of deliberate marginalization of groups of people who may not agree with the LRA ideology.” Those are the objectives of the group that we are fighting, or who are being fought and we are joining in the effort to remove them from the battlefield."

over at ThinkProgress, they noted just what the LRA is like: http://thinkprogress.org/yglesias/2011/10/15/345000/rush-limbaugh-endorses-the-lords-resistance-army/

LRA forces attacked at least 10 villages, capturing, killing, and abducting hundreds of civilians, including women and children. The vast majority of those killed were adult men, whom LRA combatants first tied up and then hacked to death with machetes or crushed their skulls with axes and heavy wooden sticks. The dead include at least 13 women and 23 children, the youngest a 3-year-old girl who was burned to death. LRA combatants tied some of the victims to trees before crushing their skulls with axes.

The LRA also killed those they abducted who walked too slowly or tried to escape. Family members and local authorities later found bodies all along the LRA’s 105-kilometer journey through the Makombo area and the small town of Tapili. Witnesses interviewed by Human Rights Watch said that for days and weeks after the attack, this vast area was filled with the “stench of death.”

9. some suggestions for getting him off air

below are a few suggestions from my recent diary:

http://www.dailykos.com/...

"Some of those stations might be good places to protest. It should be routine to check RW radio stations if planning a march route. Those are Republican and Tea Party headquarters. Some in politics and media may be very grateful to see it.

Universities and pro teams that broadcast their athletics on those stations need to be asked if they agree with the racism and global warming denial and attacks on public sector workers and unions. Most universities have 'mission statements' that would not allow them to associate with those stations if taken seriously. Petitions might help.

Local sponsors of those stations need to be asked if they agree with the Limbaughs and Hannitys. Most local advertisers will not defend the Limbaughs and will tell you they are there for business reasons that often don't make sense when the long-term pro-big business function of RW talk radio is factored in. Even if their ads usually air during the Broncos game the most important function of the station is to elect Republicans and sell an undemocratic pro-corporate agenda. Those stations played a big part in glorifying Wall Street greed, lying us into Iraq, defeating health care and election reforms the last 20 years, and are now delaying action on climate change.

When those stations finally feel challenged and have to worry about dwindling ad revenue some will have to start looking for more balanced programing. And when media and politicians that have been intimidated or enabled by RW radio see those stations finally challenged they may think twice about repeating the talking points. And maybe some of those Republicans and blue dogs will stop cowering when Limbaugh and Hannity mention their name. Bipartisanship may even be possible."

and i would add: bring him out into the open and he will melt. dems, pres obama, need to mention hm as leader of the GOP.

that recognition of his ability, as leader of the talk radio monopoly, the guy who gets first dibs on the daily coordinated think tank material that goes to all RW talkers, to take the tone of the country right, to make the racism and global warming denial acceptable, can destroy him.

4. That's some crackerjack reporting, Rush.
The LRA says they are fighting against oppression, single-party rule, and human rights violations, and fighting for peace, security, and economic prosperity for all Ugandans... so it must be true!

Seriously, you take their word at face value just because they are Christians?

5. Rush--winner of the Idi Amin Service to Humanity Award--supports
the Lord's Resistance Army? They were on the State Department's list of terrorist groups throughout the administration of one G.W. Bush. As we know, American citizens who support terrorists are subject assassination, at least outside the country. He'd better give up those to trips to little Carribean countries and watch out for drones.

8. Let's all pitch in a buy Rush a plane ticket so he can stand with his people.
I'm sure the Lord's Resistance would embrace him with open arms.

10. The "Christians" el Rushbo is referring to are absolutely psychotic.
The more I read about Martin Ssempra (Xtiann Ugandan leader and sponsor of gay genocide bill) the more I'm convinced he'd make a great James Bond villain.
