I will just say this
Fear of change is not just limited to those who rightfully should be scared. There are people who are middle to upper class who should be on the side of change who are also afraid and trying to scare or silence the rest of us. It is understandable since change (and let's pray it stays peaceful) is damn scary.

1. People are fine with change if the TV tells them what kind of change they want.
Thinking for themselves? Not so much.

The US GDP is about $46,000 per person. Look around yourself and multiply by that number. That's your share of the the blessings of liberty.

Yeah, some skills are more valuable than others, but CEO'ing ain't 50,000% more valuable.

2. Probably because they fear losing what they have to the unknown, while not

really realizing that what they do have is fragile in the "new" USA. They are on the chopping block too, it just has not yet hit them, because they are a bit more insular (for the moment, but in a bankster cannibalistic society, unregulated capitalism will try to devour all in its path IMO.} It's is a 'king of the mountain' game IMO.

4. It is fear of the unknowd
If this becomes violent then I will agree about fear. All bets will be off.

6. It's hard to say what course it will take IMO, but I've always felt martial law was clearly
ready to go if the true wealth and power were to feel any crumbling of their fortress might be accomplished by the peasants.

8. Revolutions come often
Once, twice if you count the civil war, have they resulted in mass violence.

5. For the first time in my life
Nursing is a NOT a guaranteed job. Neither is teaching.

THAT in of itself should scare folks, for all that it implies.

9. What it means to me.
We have more children than ever in history that need to be educated, yet, why do we need fewer educators?

We have more people than ever in history that need healthcare, yet, why do we need fewer healthcare practitioners?

The answer is really quite chilling...when you think about it.

Because healthcare and education will NOT be a commodity that the 99% will be allowed to partake, it will be a luxury for the 1%.

10. They won't win
Call it a sneaky...that said, and this is chilling...we do have an overpopulation issue which will become way too obvious with peak oil and climate change. My gut sees a population crash within my lifetime.

12. There are so many things building up all at once. In all my years I've never felt
this country so unstable in so many ways at once. No need for me to list them, we all know what they are ...

11. I don't think it's the fear of change
Edited on Sun Oct-16-11 04:22 PM by ChandlerJr
but rather the lack of the hoped for change that has disappointed many people and caused them to just tune out.

Even if an average of 1000 Occupiers have turned out in 100 cities, well do the math.

Well over 100 million people are watching the NFL on TV today. There are 13 NFL games today in 13 stadiums with an average attendance of 50,000 people. Again, do the math.

I know I'm tired of the promises and bickering, most people are.
