South Florida get ready for more water and a 50 % chance of a tropical storm

SURFACE OBSERVATIONS INDICATE THAT THE CENTER OF THE LARGE LOW
PRESSURE AREA NEAR THE YUCATAN PENINSULA IS NOT WELL DEFINED BUT
MAY BE REFORMING JUST TO THE EAST OF COZUMEL. THE LOW CONTINUES TO
PRODUCE WINDS TO NEAR TROPICAL STORM FORCE IN THE VICINITY OF THE
YUCATAN CHANNEL AND THE WESTERN STRAITS OF FLORIDA. ALTHOUGH THIS
SYSTEM IS LIKELY TO INTERACT WITH THE LAND MASS OF THE YUCATAN
PENINSULA DURING THE NEXT DAY OR SO...SOME GRADUAL DEVELOPMENT IS
POSSIBLE AS THE LOW MOVES SLOWLY NORTHWESTWARD. THIS SYSTEM HAS A
MEDIUM CHANCE...50 PERCENT...OF BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING
THE NEXT 48 HOURS. REGARDLESS OF DEVELOPMENT...LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE OVER THE YUCATAN PENINSULA AND
WESTERN CUBA DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.

----------------
We had a fair amount of flooding from this system Friday night and all of yesterday, but we had no wind.

6. I know... it just starts to dry out a bit and then rains...
and have to start over waiting for it to get dry enough for a couple projects I've been wanting to work on.

7. We still have 5 names on the list to go...
...Rina, Sean, Tammy, Vince, and Whitney. Pre-season, National Hurricane Center predicted 14-19 named storms, 7-10 hurricanes, and 3-5 major hurricanes. So far, we've had 16, 5, and 3 repectively, so they are pretty much on track. Hurricane season officially ends on November 30th, but normally peters out around the first week of November.
