Disgraced ex-senator Jon Ensign! He's a vet and has been out of practice for a while...so I guess he was there to sharpen his skills!

Anyway, 424 cats were done over 2 days. Yeesh!!!

8. Unfortunately, he remained unscathed!
Or maybe fortunately...as long as he helps, we'll give him a pass.

Maybe disgrace will be the making of him.

I have nothing against redemption.

3. Sharpen is certainly the appropriate word, lol!
I hope the cats he worked on had plenty of anesthesia...:scared:

10. He was able to leave on his own...
so apparently he didn't get clawed...it's those of us on the front lines getting the scratches...by the time the vets get them they're out cold!

14. Most no-kill shelters have these on a regular basis
We foster strays and ferals and have been to a number of them. They are cheap to free and most of the local vets participate at one time or another.

A vast majority of vets really do love animals and don't want to see them suffer from overpopulation.

If you have a critter that needs "fixing" check into the local no-kill shelter for dates and rates. Ours is part of the SNIP - Spay Neuter Incentive Program

11. Bill Frist?
Yay. I was the one who caught the feral cat in my neigborhood, and had her spayed. Poor thing. But not before she gave me two of my best friends ever in the whole world. I wish they were still with me.

13. I wouldn't hire him to clean cages and mop floors at MY cat hospital, lol.
Edited on Sun Oct-16-11 06:45 PM by kestrel91316
He's an overentitled 1%er (Daddy's money) and a dishonest person.

It wouldn't surprise me if he reused spay packs on the cats.

I taught him everything he learned (and has since forgotten) about veterinary microbiology lab techniques. He was a brown-noser.

16. Good on Ensign!
Do they also 'snip' a tiny corner of the cats ear to show it has been fixed? One of my kittehs -a street rescue- had a snipped ear which signaled he had been neutered.

18. All About Animals in a suburb of Detroit did 139 spay/neuters and built 40 shelters. In one day!
It's so heartwarming when people really care. I have a young mom and her three babies that will be going and then they will come back here to live their lives. The mom and two of the babies allow me to pet them now.
