Poll question: Eric Holder, love him or leave him?
Edited on Mon Oct-17-11 08:55 AM by ThomWV
From Wiki':
Eric H. Holder, Jr. (born January 21, 1951) is the 82nd and current Attorney General of the United States and the first African American to hold the position,<2> serving under President Barack Obama.
Holder previously served as a judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and a United States Attorney. In that office he prosecuted Congressman Dan Rostenkowski (Democrat, Illinois) for corruption charges related to his role in the Congressional Post Office scandal. Later, he was Deputy Attorney General of the United States and worked at the law firm of Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C. He was senior legal advisor to then-Senator Barack Obama during Obama's presidential campaign and one of three members of Obama's vice-presidential selection committee.

What do you think, Should the President keep him or fire him?

8. Geithner desperately needs to go
And Clarence Thomas should have been impeached months ago.

10. Thomas committed indictable offenses. He doesn't have to be impeached, just prosecuted.
It's a political decision not to convene a Grand Jury. In their political calculation, the Obama Admin. prefers to keep him on the Court, at least this term.

14. You speak as if the Obama Administration would lift a finger to have him removed
the not only will anyone in the Obama Administration not convene a Grand Jury (now or ever) they won't so much as mention there may be a problem with Thomas, his wife, or any unreported funds they have taken in over the decades he has sat on the bench.

15. Do you think it's a don't rile up the opposition thing, or something more insidious - such as they
secretly like the way the Court is now composed as an essentially Right-wing body, and want to keep it that way?

6. Does it really matter who?
I don't think it would one bit. Any person with the power to make Change possible would have their powers neutered, cut loose or have their reputation torn down.

9. If it doesn't matter then there is no hope for any other outcome but slavery.

13. Or rebellion. I think we've had enough slavery, of various kinds in America
and elsewhere in the world where only Capital is free and people serve the One Percent who own it.

7. Can someone enlighten me. Seriously confused. From the
time Holder's name was even mentioned to be AG.,US,
the Republicans were all roiled up. Some of them
did everything in their power to keep him from becoming
AG. Since that time, they have jumped at everry chance
to try to embarass or oust him from office.

I never understood what is the problem with Holder.

Now from comments so far at least Duers have problems.

Will someone enlighten me. Thanks for your help.

11. Pleased to oblige: Republicans feared he would prosecute, Democrats are pissed he didn't.

18. Republicans go into histrionic tirades
Any time a Democrat suggests something. You think they aren't going to go into dramatics over appointments and prosecutions? They are so ideologically whacked at this point, that NONE of them know what they believe in, only that they know they oppose anything a perceived Democrat or Democratic appointment does, regardless of whether or not it benefits "their side".

If Democrats put forth a bill suggesting cutting taxes to 1% for everyone in the US, Republicans would go into "righteous tirades" and claim it would destroy the country. If Democrats discovered a cure for cancer, it would be "socialism" and Republicans would go into panic attacks. They have nothing except for opposition, because they have everything exactly the way they want it. It totally benefits the 1%, and that's what has happened to our country. We've moved so far to the right, that the right doesn't have to come up with anything new - they just have to derail anything and everything that could possibly swing the pendulum.
