CNN Deputy Political Director Paul Steinhauser

Las Vegas, Nevada (CNN) – Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul is proposing to cut $1 trillion from the federal budget in his first year in office and eliminate five cabinet level federal departments if elected president.

The longtime congressman from Texas will unveil his proposals Monday, as part his "Plan to Restore America," which also slashes regulations and taxes. Paul will make his announcement at the Venetian, site of Tuesday's CNN Western Republican presidential debate.

According to the plan, which CNN obtained, Paul will propose eliminating the departments of Energy, HUD, Commerce, Interior, and Education, as well as abolishing the Transportation Security Administration and returning responsibility for security to private property owners.

Paul's proposals also call for "abolishing corporate subsidies, stopping foreign aid, ending foreign wars, and returning most other spending to 2006 levels."

4. He wants to drop corporate taxes to 15%,
dump the estate tax, and get rid of the departments of Energy, HUD, Commerce, Interior, and Education, as well as the TSA.

He'll have to; there will be no revenue coming in.

Oh, but the Paultards love him. "Dr. Paul! Dr. Paul!"

Yeah, THAT'll get this Capitalist crapcake a-movin!!

Most of the wealthy already PAY 15%, why not make the entities they run pay that also? We'll be Somalia or 60s-70s South America before we know it!

5. There's going to be ANOTHER Republican Debate? WHY? What does this make, #294?
As for Paul, he follows his few sensible ideas with a shit-ton of bad ones.

7. 2006? Why stop there, Ron?
Say it, 1796. Return spending to 1796 levels. And get rid of the tax on whiskey.

15. Why don't we concentrate on bringing in revenue instead of cutting for once.
Corporate profits, Megachurches, and CEO income would all be great places to start. :grr: :argh:
