Dominoes, Pizza Hut, Papa John...they may not be great, but at least they're edible.

Every time a FB "friend" posts how great Cain is, my comeback is always " his pizza is horrible. That should preclude him from office"

It's fun to fuck with freeper fundies.

1. Godfather's used to be outstanding, in the 70's/80's
and went to hell once Cain bought the brand.

2. I was gonna say, when I was wee lass Godfather's was the BEST pizza
around. If I recall, the big sell was the pound of cheese on each pizza.

7. Yep, that and so much more

the locations had a nice ambiance, and the pizzas were just all around awesome. It was our Friday Night Hangout of choice when I was in high school. There was another pizza place called Valentino's that was considered as good or better (depending on your tastes) but they were considered the number one/two pizza places in town.

Then Pillsbury bought it, sterilized the ambiance, and changed the recipe, charging more for a cheaper pizza. Then Cain bought it, and now it's common to see it as a crap food in a gas station, which makes me sad in a nostalgic way.

5. When did he purchase Godfather's Pizza? 1981?
That's when I lived outside of Houston and Godfather's Pizza was the only pizza in the town. I had it once and wanted to puke. I didn't eat pizza again until a guy from Chicago moved down and opened a real pizza joint-3 years later! This is and always has been the worst "pizza" I have ever had. Much worse than Dominoes, Pizza Hut, and Papa John's. :hi:

8. He started running Godfather's Pizza in 1986 for Pillsbury
when the chain was in trouble. he cut the chain in half (900 stores to 400+ or so) and it became profitable. Cain & a group of investors bought it out from Pillsbury in 1988. Cain remained as CEO until resigning in 1996.

So, Cain's economic turnaround plan for America would be to cut businesses & employment in half...

3. I have never eaten there. How would it compare to, say, CiCi's pizza or Little Caesar's? Those are

the two worst chains around here.

6. I've never had any and in fact I don't really remember ever seeing one of their locations.
I guess Cain is pretty sucky at marketing.

9. According to their web site, a 12" pizza feeds 3-4 people

So you must not be able to eat much of it...

Luckily, the nearest one is 20 miles away.

?????????

By whose standard?

And Godfathers' is WORSE?

The only chain I trust for pizza is Giordano's, and if you're not in Chicago or Orlando you can't get from them. I'll stick to making my own, or if I'm in a hurry going to the mom-and-pop place around the corner, thank you.

14. There aren't many chains around here
They really can't compete with the local stores.

11. In the 70's/80's Godfathers' pizza was simply the best pizza EVER.
I think the last time I tried one was 1983 or so. I have no idea how they fucked that up since then- I'm sure Cain is excellent at fucking good things up. But back in the day they were incredible.

12. Um, I'm not an Italian American and I've never tried the stuff.
..but am I completely out of line to find the whole idea of "Godfather" Pizza somewhat ethnically prejudiced?
REally, tell me if I'm being silly!

13. I went into a Godfather's Pizza once, that was more than enough. The WORST pizza
ever, it was HORRIBLE. It was like it got bigger and bigger in my mouth as I chewed. :puke:
