Montreal man walks around the world in 11 years
He nibbled on bugs and snakes, he bunked with escaped murderers in Africa and he had a close encounter with a puma in a South American desert.

Now, a Montrealer who spent the last 11 years walking around the globe is home.

Jean Beliveau reached his hometown on Sunday after walking more than 75,000 kilometres through 64 countries.

7. "Um, honey? I thought you'd like to know I'm leaving in a few weeks for a very long stroll that
I've been planning for months. I'll be heading off to go walk around the whole planet. So if my boss calls and asks why I haven't been at work recently, or you notice the lawn hasn't been mowed for a while, or you begin to wonder when I stopped leaving my underwear on the bathroom floor, that's what's up -- I'm just off on a bit of a walk to clear my head"

... Archambault said Beliveau only told her about his plan to circle the globe three-and-a-half weeks before he left, even though he had been preparing for the trip for more than six months ...

8. Wonderful!
He's going to have a hell of a book to write, if he's so inclined. Even if he just wants to savor the adventure in his own memories, it was worth it. What an incredible experience! I'm not a big fan of travel, usually, but when I read something like this, I kinda envy the ability to just get up and go, to "seek out new life and new civilizations," with no responsibilities holding you down.
