GOP freshmen feel fundraising pinch

WASHINGTON, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- House Republican freshmen who rode voter discontent to Washington in 2010 now are experiencing difficulty in fundraising, third-quarter reports indicate.

House GOP aides say they knew the July-August-September cycle would be bad for freshmen because historically the summer months are difficult times for fundraising and the debt-ceiling debate kept members in Washington and away from their fundraising efforts, Politico reported Sunday.

Financial reports filed with the Federal Election Commission indicated a few first-time lawmakers had poor efforts. Texas Rep. Blake Farenthold raised $102,000 last quarter. North Carolina Rep. Renee Ellmers, a former nurse, reported a $97,000. Florida Rep. Steve Southerland, who had operated a funeral home before heading to Washington, reported receiving $90,000.

4. Oh, I'm sure the Koch's have some millions just sitting around
They're just waiting for these reps to officially put themselves in the clearance bin. Why pay full price when these reps will soon be putting out their "For Sale--CHEAP" signs?

3. I wonder how Jamie Herrera Beutler is doing?
She's the newly-minted Republican Representative in Southwest Washington, just across the river from me. Apparently, she's not too keen on hearing from the rabble:

She held a town hall meeting in Centralia, but didn't want the "town" to show up at the hall. Instead, she wanted a hand-picked crowd of folks personally invited by telephone call. Don't call it "pre-screening," though, because it wasn't. It just wasn't, okay?

Surely the folks who support Rep. Herrera Beutler will appreciate her careful selection of just who she represents, and open their wallets to send her back for another term?

5. My teabagger,
Southerland, mentioned in the article, has been doing the same thing - avoiding his constituents by doing invitation-only 'appearances'.

7. I hope to hell she doesn't win again
I'm going to vote against her again. Don't know if Heck will try to beat her next time, of if it will be someone else, but I'll vote for whoever it is.

6. They don't have a fundraising clue
They are the property of the Koch Bros. They didn't have to build or pay for a campaign and now they are clueless. Never fear.
Their sugar daddies will anti up what they need.
