TV stations drop misleading ad by group pushing Ohio anti-union bill
By Dustin Ensinger | 10.13.11 | 12:41 pm

Building a Better Ohio, a group formed to support anti-collective bargaining legislation that will go before voters in November via a veto referendum known as Issue 2, is up with a new television ad featuring Marlene Quinn, a 78-year-old Cincinnati woman, extolling the virtues of the union-busting legislation.

The problem is, Quinn is not a supporter of Senate Bill 5. In fact, she is adamantly opposed to the anti-union legislation, and made that clear in an anti-SB5 ad that aired prior to the Building a Better Ohio ad.

Building a Better Ohio took footage of that previous ad and manipulated it, adding in its own narration to make it seem as though Quinn supports SB5 in order to avoid layoffs of firefighters.

(snip)

For his part, Kasich (R) told the Columbus Dispatch he is not responsible for the misleading ad. However, he also added that “what they’re doing is fine.”

I'm pleased to hear that the TV stations are responding appropriately to this misleading ad.

2. My 86 year old former mother in law called me about this commercial.

We live in NE Ohio.

She was confused because I had just left her house after explaining issue 2 to her and put a sign in her yard that said "vote no". She called me later and asked why an elderly woman was on TV telling her why voting "yes" issue 2 would protect our fire fighters and keep her safe.

I had to look it up because I hadn't heard of this commercial yet, but it obviously worked as planned. Fortunately I was able to set her straight.

This is proof what evil lying bastards Republicans are.

5. There's gotta be a law....
This is propaganda and now I feel the need to compare these people to Nazis.

I saw a commercial for Verizon vs. the other company and one
guy was putting fliers on cars in a parking lot. The first guy reads the fliers and says that the information on the fliers is false and misleading. The other guy says he knows, you need to confuse the people so that some of them will still buy your product.

I only saw it twice and then it was pulled.
I guess it was too close to the truth.

So, this is what the leadership of our country has come to?
A bunch of friggin liers!!????

I say VOTE THEM OUT - unless they have done something during the
past couple of years to warrant leniency.

Lying, to them, is an acceptable ploy!!!
This is not a college debate!!!
This is all about the lives of 300 million people!!!!

I like to tell every GOP member I can that they blew it - they went too far!!!!
