Ooops. Aide to Cantor lets the real agenda slip. "...make sure the people at the top stay there."
'The Virginia congressman, the most recent and prominent Republican whipping boy for Democrats, is heading to the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania to talk about income disparity and how Republicans believe the government could help fix it, an aide said. The speech will zero in on how Washington could help a “a single working mom…a small business owner…and how we make sure the people at the top stay there,” the aide said.'

Charles Pierce nailed this one:

'...on Fox News Sunday, Cantor announced his earthshaking discovery that the United States has a problem with income inequality, and that his Republican party is poised to do something about that. Of course, every single proposal to emerge from his caucus would work to use the tax code to cement that inequality from now until Eric Cantor VIII is flunking economics somewhere.'

Messaging aside, we all know what this is about. Tax breaks for the "job creators" that'll make sure the people at the top stay there. But good luck to Republicans trying to convince America otherwise while they're blithely blocking every part of the Democrats' jobs bill.

This story is from a few days ago. Sorry if it's already been posted.

I assume this aide is already looking for a new job. Speaking the truth (even occasionally is bad for a republican's career path. :)

5. Comparing Cantor to cockroaches is an insult to cockroaches
Roaches serve an vital role in the ecology by recycling organic matter, and by providing food for other organisms. Cantor is just a pure waste of flesh. He serves no positive role in anything.

4. why would the ordinary GOP voter that's not at the top want that?
unless by "the people at the top" they interpret it to mean white people.

It fits in with Pat Buchanan's latest book, where he warns that white people will soon be "sitting in the back of the bus" in America.

8. Yeah, most of the other 400-odd representatives...
...who pursue exactly that agenda are at least a little more subtle.

...however, they feed from the same trough and by the same hand.

11. Occopy Philly is organizing a protest march
They've set up a Facebook event page for the Occupy Eric Cantor March: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=170823179672070

They're also calling for Philadelphia area college students and professors to walk out at noon and join them. Here's the Philadelphia Universities Walkout page: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=176332772452304

And the local labor unions are getting behind it as well.

If they pull this off, it could prove very interesting.

Thank you very much, pampango!

Increasingly, I'm taking the socialist perspective on things:

...how we make sure the people at the top stay there.

14. A new study on bullying says...
A new study on bullying has found that that bullying
is due to a chemical imbalance.

When subjects in the study group were shown pictures
of Eric Cantor there was a rise in heart rate, blood
pressure and verbally abusive remarks from the
participants.

This led the psychologists conducting the study to
re access their original hypothesis and resign themselves
to the fact that some people just have a look about
them that makes you want to kick the living shit out of
them.

O.K. I got carried away - It's a joke!!!
