Thank you John Kasich
Ohio has no rules regulating the sale and ownership of exotic animals.

Former Gov. Ted Strickland had attempted to enforce such a law, but Gov. John
Kasich allowed an executive order to expire.

Right now Kasich is having Jack Hanna and much of the media in CYA mode. Last night Jack Hanna was on Rachel M's
show saying that John (Kasich) was very concerned about exotic animals in Ohio and was just weeks away from holding
a hearing on how to strengthen Ohio's exotic animal laws.

1. When these assholes aren't ordering the white shirts after us, they send wild animals after us.
They. Don't. Care.

2. I don't know that Ohio allows for the Governor to invent laws
where the legislature hasn't passed one. And, obviously, the Executive Order didn't do anything to prevent this from happening, as it didn't do anything to take the animals away in the first place.

3. The guy had been raising exotic animals since 1977
That predates Strickland so he may have been grandfathered-in.

But if you read that article the guy was a belligerent, illegal gun-collecting (i.e. no serial numbers), tax dodger.

Animals or not he shouldn't have been running around loose himself.

4. Does anyone know what Jack Hanna's views are?
I'm curious if he is playing nice with Kasich in order to protect the zoo and other animal related issues.
