Yankees fan captures Gaddafi's pistol

When Col Muammar Gaddafi was captured and killed, he was carrying a golden gun, one of the dictator's arsenal of expensive customised weapons.

Who knew Libyans watched baseball? ;-)

23. ask the libyans? Which ones?
Do the libyan's speak as a whole? Do you think that the ones who were bombed and murdered by NATO now feel that their lives were not lost in vain?

16. The latest rumor
is that there was a firefight after Gaddafi was captured, between G-forces and TNC forces, and that is when Gaddafi was killed.

But, if you follow the stories about what happened to Saif - dead, wounded, still at large, who knows?

19. I don't give a damn. Or, to paraphrase the song Constantinople (Istanbul):
that's nobody's business but the Libyans.

4. Well it looks like he had good taste in firearms.
Can't go wrong with a Model 1911 Colt. Don't care for the gold plating though.

6. I don't think that's a 1911.
Browning Hi-Power, if I'm not mistaken. Still in good taste, gold plating aside.

7. You might be right. It's hard for me to tell without a closer view.
But if it's not a M1911 it's a first cousin.

8. Well, the 1911 and Hi-Power are both Browning designs,
so they're certainly related!

5. I believe that's a Browning Hi-Power 9mm
Looks like it has a fair amount of engraving and some sort of gold wash finish, as far as I can tell.

10. If that guy's smart, he can turn that particular .45 into a pile
of money. That would be some collector's dream.

18. It looks like a friend of the Yankee fan captured the pistol.
For all we know, the capturer could be a San Francisco Giants fan. ;-)

22. If the story had been about Gaddafi's car
and there were a few posts about the make and model would it have been a "car fetish orgy"? :eyes:
